I am an artist born in Valencia, Venezuela. I have been living in Miami for more than 20 years. My work is mostly done with acrylics on canvas and papers with a variety of mediums. I started painting many years ago and I haven’t stopped. I have painted with many master painters and I enjoy learning different techniques from working on a worship environment. Currently I am part of a workshop with Master painter Baruj Salinas. There is a wonderful feeling when you are painting surrounded by other artists in a creative atelier.

My current work, “Catharsis” is the exploration of the feminine world; it’s a visual dialog between me and the human landscape. Ihave always felt a fascination for painting faces and human figures. I believe that my work is a catharsis that emerges from the subconscious and expresses feelings from the world around me. You can see elements in my paintings symbolizing my identity as a woman, mother, my political views, grief, happiness and many other emotions that make me who I am.

I believe that passionate colors bring strength to my paintings. I use a lot of earth tones, reds, oranges in my work. I think that the explosion of color in my paintings mirrors my emotional nature.

“What we worship in the human body is more than its beautiful shape; it is the inward flame that seems to illuminate it, to shine through it.”- Rodin

I studied French for some years at L’alliance Francaise and make it a yearly treat to visit Paris to enjoy all the wonderful art that the city has to offer.

Opening reception: Friday, January 22nd - 7.00 pm - 9:30 pm
